Kendra Presswood has been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar since 2006 and has over 30 years of litigation experience in federal and state trial and appellate courts as well as other tribunals. Ms. Presswood represents both employers and employees and is an accomplished litigator known for her tenacious and zealous representation and excellent results. Skilled at analyzing complex legal issues and intricate factual scenarios, she has a distinguished track record of developing key evidence through persistent, strategic witness interviews and formal discovery.
Ms. Presswood focuses her practice on employment litigation including claims involving allegations of race, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, and transgender discrimination, as well as litigation involving claims for sexual harassment, retaliation, and violations of the rights of whistle-blowers. Kendra has litigated such cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act of 1993, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, the Florida Private Sector Whistleblower Act, the Florida Public Sector Whistleblower Act, and many other federal, state and local statutes and ordinances. Ms. Presswood has also litigated class action and collective action lawsuits.
Ms. Presswood graduated from Stetson University College of Law. Her undergraduate degree is in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She grew up on Anna Maria Island and was a competitive soccer player. She still resides in Manatee County, Florida, and enjoys spending time with family (including dogs) and friends, boating and fishing.
Ms. Presswood is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She currently serves on The Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Board Certification Committee.
